Choux Pastry

Mmmmm... it was good. To think making that was school. Pfft. :P Anyways, just thought I'd let you see my most recent non-catastrophic baking endeavour! Adios!

This and That.. #3 :P

So I've been slacking. I apologize.

The over-blogged-about graduation occurred this week, and it was pure madness getting ready (hence the minimal blogging). I bought a dress, got my hair done, etc. etc. The actual graduation went really well though, and I'm glad I did it. So there you go - doing what you believe you should is always better than what you want at the time. In my personal opinion. When you make the right choice, I think you usually end up enjoying what you felt you should do.

I have 21 days of classwork left of highschool. On June 12 at 3:00 (if not before) I will be done highschool with the exception of 2 exams. 21 days. This is scary. Especially considering the amount of school I need to get done before then. No worries, it will get done, but I'm counting on a few late nights in the process.

I have officially accepted Kings, so unless I get 0% on all the rest of my course work and somehow don't complete a few courses, that's where I'll be next year. I'm pretty excited. I've heard some pretty cool things.

I am job hunting again. It's good fun. Over the course of the weekend I dropped off about 12 resumes around this area, with some promising responses. Hopefully I'll get a call...from someone. Just hopefully not Sport Chek because the irony of me working at a sports store would be too much. :P

That's sort of where I am right now... same old, same old. Now I have to go cook some pastry-chocolate-whipped cream goodness. For school. Yup, dessert for a credit. Not too bad, I'm not gonna complain. Thanks for reading!

Kids are Cute

Hey all!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while...this whole month is an absolute crazy-busy time for me. So, because I don't have time to say anything intellectual, I thought I'd post this cute forward I got a while back. Enjoy!

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl: stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl: said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".

The teacher: asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"

The little girl replied, "Then you ask him.

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.

The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."

The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."

Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to "honour" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"

Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head. She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?"

Her mother replied, "Well, every time you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."

The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, howcome ALL of Grandma's hairs are white?"

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture. Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer. She's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael. He's a doctor.'

A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, she's dead."

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted it on the apple tray: "Take only ONE. God is watching" Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples".

Hehehe. I've never understood people who say they don't like children. I mean come on, kids are hilarious! :P Anyways, thanks for reading!

Back into the thick of things

Well, life is getting back to normal after the vacation. I'm definitely busy with school again, I'm hoping to be done everything except 1 exam by the end of May. Uh huh. I'm not quite sure if that's going to happen yet, but I'm going to work hard and try.

I did a test yesterday. I studied some of the wrong stuff. I don't like doing that. At best, I'll get a 78. Oh well. What can you do?

I have to make couscous today... it's a Moroccan food that's flaky, but then you pour water or broth on it and it turns into rice. It should be interesting.

I'm reading "Know Why You Believe" by Paul Little. It's pretty interesting. He seems to be a pretty smart guy. I think I'll elaborate more later (ie: when I'm not supposed to be doing school already)...I've been taking notes. :)

My little brother is turning 14 tomorrow. It's hard to believe. He seems really old. And he's taller than me. *Sigh*

I worked last night. It was good fun. Some lady came into the store and spent 1300 dollars worth of stuff for her daughter's University apartment. And when we carried it out to the car, they had a BMW SUV. Sorry, not "they", it was the daughter's. Oh man. Some people have too much money. That or Pier 1 is too expensive. Probably both.

Anyways, I don't have much else for you today. I need to think up something more intellectual one of these days, but today is not that day. Adios all, and thanks for reading!

The Boys (and Girls) Are Back in Town

Hi everyone! We're back! Being away was really fun, and we got to spend some great fun time as a family. Being able to visit a number of historical sites was really amazing too. I really like history, so for me that was one of the highlights. Walking where great people of our past walked was really neat. It felt weird to be in the same place that George Washington was. I dunno. It's hard to put the feeling into words. Maybe I'm just a nerd who thinks history is cool, but hey, I had a blast.

And well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I think I'll just share some favourites with you. :)

Mom and I in Jamestown

Taken at the American Revolution museum in Yorktown...isn't my Dad a great photographer? <3

Fun at the Virginia Beach Aquarium...we saw real sharks too, btw

We just can't stay out of trouble...into the stocks we went (Colonial Williamsburg)

Also taken in Colonial Williamsburg

We also went to an amusement park called Busch Gardens, and I was somehow persuaded to go on this water ride. As you can see (or maybe you can't) in this picture I'm hiding behind my mom so I won't get wet. Unfortunately, like always, I got more wet than her in the long run.

Well, that's it for now. I might upload some more later, but Blogger is super slow at uploading pictures and I'm bored of it now. Thanks for reading!
