Blessed

At the beginning of May this year I started dropping resumes off around the Northwestern area of the city, mostly focusing on the mall, the stores around the mall, and the newly developed Hyde Park/Fanshawe area. I was determined to get another job to compliment Pier 1, as they definitely weren't giving me enough hours.

As May passed, I didn't get any calls, despite me returning to a number of places, following up with phone calls, etc. I got rather upset, because I thought I had pretty good employment experience, and was qualified for a number of the jobs.

When June rolled around and I finished school I pretty much gave up on the job hunt. I figured all the places had hired people already, and I didn't have much of a chance. I asked Pier 1 for more hours, and that was that. Then, at the end of June, my boss asked me to tutor her son. I was extremely apprehensive, and I'm still kind of nervous about it, but so far, it's been going pretty well. The extra $20 a week helps too.

Then, just a couple weeks ago my mom couldn't find anyone to give my Oma's old chair to. She put it out on the road, hoping someone who needed it would grab it before garbage day. Well, someone did. And she needed a babysitter for her 3 girls - ages 4, 2, and 5 months. She and her husband own several A&W Restaurants (are they even called that?) and she does bookwork at home. She needs someone quite regularly (during the day - even better!) to look after the kids.

I love babysitting, and I'm also loving God's blessing and perfect timing.

Anyways, that's sort of my summer update. It's been pretty cool.

On a lighter note, is anyone having trouble with earwigs this year? I keep finding them in my room, and I'm not very happy about it. Since I refuse to squish them in kleenex I have to put them in a cup, dump them in the sink, and run water washing them down. A few nights ago I tried this for the first time and when I went back into the bathroom a few minutes later both earwigs were crawling out of the drain. I wasn't very happy about this so I ran boiling hot water down the sink and then plugged the drain. For all I know, however, they could be crawling around outside on the street. Those things just don't die.

Anyways, enough for tonight. I have to head off to Pier 1. :) Adios all and thanks for reading.

P.S. I bought Casting Crowns self-titled album and am really enjoying it. Go listen to "What If His People Prayed". It's good.
